MISSION
At PPP it is our mission to improve the neural, physical and social health of our youth by introducing the bicycle into their school curriculum, from pre-school through college using science driven principals, like cohort-based learning and growth-mindset, alongside inventive bicycle centric games.
THE BICYCLE
The bicycle has proven neurological benefits for developing youth, such as ocular and aural acuity, left-right balance and endorphin processes that can spur brain activity and reduce social inhibitions while increasing focus and attention. The bicycle activates nearly all the body's skeletal-muscle system when balancing, propelling, turning and stopping, while the cardiovascular system ramps up to defeat inclines, reach higher speeds, or overcome challenges.
The bicycle is also a simple, yet complex machine that can teach myriad lessons around math, physics, physiology, materials and mechanics, while holding the basic principles that drive many more complex machines in our world, from tunnel machines to space ships.
THE CURRICULUM
The PPP Curriculum uniquely incorporates academic material into fun games that naturally give students experience with subject material by subtly weaving lessons into an activity, like a history treasure hunt, a grammar market, measuring and replacing a chain or making large geometric crop circles for just a few examples of how we will build social confidence on top of self-propelled mobility using collaboration, leadership, and some skill specialization and roles within the cohort.
"YOU HAVE TO SEE IT TO BE IT"
Inspired by Billie Jean King’s words, PPP is enlisting youth cycling clubs across the nation to go to schools and present the many pathways that cycling can inspire while nurturing youth engagement. From champion youth athletes, to young successful artisans, professionals and community workers that found a bicycle integral to their achievements, our programs put young people in front of young people - Kids Leading Kids - with the ambition that our presentations may lead to curiosity, deeper engagement, more collegiate scholarships and pathways that support life beyond the playground or campus.
Our primary objective is to facilitate a healthier society, to capture the imaginations of youth as they build our future. To show that cycling can be woven into their lives in myriad ways: their studies, careers, businesses or community. Beyond improving child development, we look at the bicycle as a mobility solution, a ‘Gateway Focus' that can improve our communities through all types of exploration - imaginary, geographical, social, and intellectual.
Incidentally, we want to inspire youth to remain engaged in cycling while developing athletically through teamwork and competition, with the highest achieving cyclists rising to the level of Olympic Athlete on Team USA's Olympic Cycling Squad at the LA2028 Olympic Games and beyond.
It is our ambition that these programs and games can promote intelligent impactful lifestyles and technological or social solutions for our future as our youth focus on science, advocacy, and activities around a bicycle while building our…
